Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy Training earned in 2019
As an Art Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor I am focused on providing person-centered care to help each person feel empowered in their treatment. I specialize in working with adolescences and emerging adults that have been impacted by trauma and substance use through the lifespan.
My clinical framework consists of Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I use a combination of directness, consistency and praise during each session to reflect on progress towards targeted goals.
I describe myself as a relatable, empathic listener and affirmative of ones lived experiences. I can help my clients navigate challenging life transitions, make positive changes and hone in on their sense of resilience by providing a safe, judgement free space for one to truly explore all aspects of themselves.
I graduated from Drexel University with a Degree in Art Therapy and Counseling in 2016, including graduate studies and post graduate work has a combined 10 years of experience working with children and adults in mental and community behavioral health in diverse treatment facilities in Philadelphia, ranging from outpatient to inpatient work as well as community-based services.
“I am very compassionate in my approach to meet each individual’s unique set of needs and see their strengths. Engaging in the therapy process and art making can be a very vulnerable experience while also serve as a steppingstone in one’s life. ” -Debora
